Felt Pens.

Felt pen can look so wrong!

CluNky, over bright colours that leave heavy shading lines….. grumble, grumble….

well,  not always true, I love their opacity and they have potential… it’s a love/ hate relationship.

Me and my GCSE Short Course and been using them in our artists research. They’re ideal for building confidence…. We’re looking at work inspired by Marine Life- linking it to last years Exam paper.

We started by just copying the work of Jeweller Sarah parker Eaton with black felt pen….. keeping the lines simple.

once all the basic lines had been drawn, we started to add some markmaking:dots, cross hatching……

Then, when we were happy with the level of detail, we started the fun bit…. adding water! Flooding the page to add depth and shadow to the work…..

and heres some of the fantastic Year 9’s artwork…… I’m a very proud teacher!
